About MREIF
The MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF) is a key initiative under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda — created to bridge Nigeria's housing gap and expand access to affordable homeownership for low- and middle-income Nigerians.
Addressing Nigeria's housing deficit through long-term financing
Nigeria currently faces a housing deficit estimated at 28 million units. Access to affordable mortgage finance remains one of the biggest barriers to homeownership for low- and middle-income Nigerians, and the cost of long-term borrowing continues to push homeownership out of reach for millions of households.
The MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF) was established to change this. Sponsored by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI) — the investment arm of the Federal Ministry of Finance — MREIF delivers long-term, low-cost mortgage financing designed to make homeownership achievable for millions of Nigerians at scale.
ARM Investment Managers (ARMIM) is appointed as Fund Manager, and Qshelter provides the digital housing platform. Together with participating financial institutions, credible developers, and public-sector partners, MREIF is delivering housing at scale — with mortgages of up to 20 years at a fixed 9.5% per annum and a minimum equity contribution of just 10%.
